All in all, between the level of mastery Nasir Jones has reached as an mc, the genius soundscape, and the tracklist which does not waste a single second of its run time, it’s safe to say this album is truly magic.
Adding to the record, the only features come in the names of DJ Premier and A$AP Rocky, who combine forces with Nas on the song “Wave Gods” to make one of the most versatile and clever collaborations in his entire catalog. Understanding the 48 year old’s abilities better than ever, Hit tunes each drum and loops each sample to absolute perfection. With hours upon hours worth of material recorded at this point, the rapper-producer duo feels like they are at the top of their game when it comes to their chemistry at this point. Its the eleventh studio album from Nas called 'Nasir' Nas also known as Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones is an American rapper from New York City who in my opinion is the Greatest Rapper Of All Time. Complementing every word of Esco, Hit-Boy handles the production for the third straight album of Nas’s. On this review I will be reviewing the new album from Nas which was released this month on the 15th June 2018. From his come-to-life storytelling ability to his pen game which can work as a literal time machine in certain moments, Esco’s mc skills feel like they have reached an all-time high which longtime fans of the Queensbridge legend know says a lot. For a rapper who’s been releasing music for nearly 30 years at this point, it’s honestly hard to believe that one can sound this hungry and passionate about his craft, but somehow, Nas manages to keep the listener in awe for the projects entire 29 minute run time. Closing out his year on the ultimate high note, Nas’s second album of the year, Magic, turns out to be one of the most thought-out and well-written records during this twilight era of his career.
